Thane, Jan 15, 2011: The Cambay Spa and Golf Resort is located in a quiet corner away from the Hustle of the City. Room was luxurious, neat and comfortable. The crowning glory is the Restaurants at this location, one of which opened the week of my travel. Its ideal for a Business meet as well as for a Family stay.

Kolkota, Oct 25, 2010: The hotel was good in the sense that rooms were roomy and well furnished. Swimming pool area was cleaned regularly. Buffet breakfast and lunch were arranged daily independent of the number of guests in the hotel. Room service was quick and efficient. Car drivers were not cooperative and friendly. Maintenance staff were very good. Menu in general was quite innovative and there were lots of choices for non-veg food.

Jaipur, July 25, 2010: We booked this hotel under the scheme of Roam Voucher meant to promote the CAMBAY group. We booked our stay in a hurry as the programme is not decided earlier. The services are good. The rooms are equipped with all the amenities like mini bar, television, air conditioner, etc. as promised to us. The location of the resort, though in a peaceful area, but lies at the outskirts of the city Gandhinagar.

Mohammed Quli Qutb Shah, the founder of Hyderabad, built Charminar in 1591 at the centre of the original city layout. It is said to be built as a charm to ward off a deadly epidemic raging at that time. Four graceful minarets soar to a height of 48.7 m above the ground. Charminar has 45 prayer spaces and a mosque in it. Visitors can view the architectural splendour inside the Charminar. The monument is illuminated in the evenings and a pedestrianisation project around the monument is under implementation.

Mecca Masjid: A two hundred yards southwest of the Charminar is the Mecca Masjid, so named because the bricks were brought from Mecca to build the central arch. The Qutb Shahis never finished the building of the mosque, which was completed by Aurangzeb in 1694.

Laad Baazar: This is famous, colourful shopping centre of the old city, tucked away in one of the streets leading off from Charminar. Bridal wear, Pearls and the traditional Hyderabadi glass and stone studded bangles are sold here.

Golconda was originally a mud fort, which passed to the Bahmani dynasty and later to the Qutb Shahis, who held it from 1518 to 1687 A.D. The first three Qutb Shahi kings rebuilt Golconda, over a span of 62 years. 18 Arpil 2010, kunjanjain (Bangalore): Ramee Guestline or popularly called the Guestline club is a perfect weekend getaway for bangaloreans as it’s not very far from the city but makes you forget that you are on the outskirts of the city afterall. The hotel also offers valet parking free of charge. We decided to spend a weekend after a busy week at the Hotel. The room was neat and clean and they also had kept some fresh fruits and mineral water for us. The hotel has a big lawn adjoining the swimming pool and the children’s play area. There’s loads of scenery around the hotel and it also has got a fabulous Put-Put 18 hole golf lawn. There’s also a giant chess board along side the golf club and the pool side barbecue is brilliant. We had a dash in the pool and followed it with one of the best part of our stay at Ramee-The Food! The variety and the quality of the food was simply superb and there was loads of food to have which we heartily enjoyed throughout our stay. It also has a very good health club and indoor sports room. At night, the hotel also arranged for a bonfire and drinks along the pool side barbecue.

15 Mar 2010, pawanbangalore (Bangalore): Subrat and his staff provide the highest level of service to the business traveler like me. The front desk team is always warm and welcoming, remembering my name when I arrive even after months of my last stay. The rooms are always clean and perfect and the lobby lounge and bar always warm and welcoming with E. as the host and recently introduced happy hour snacks. Chris, Marquis and Monique at the front desk are always pleasant and efficient when necessary. The complimentary travel service in the very nice cars is a BIG plus for when needing a ride from Marta or to a restaurant for business dinner. Greg, Ben and the others are always kind and available to meet my needs. I would highly recommend The Pride Hotels to any fellow business traveler who is looking for great accommodations and service in the area.

28 Jan 2009, deedoor (Paris): The decision to spend a late summer getaway at Kodai couldn’t have been a better one.  Hill Country was the ideal place to catch up with friends in an environment of peace, quiet and total relaxation away from the heat and pollution of Chennai. The drive up to the hills which I have done many times since childhood was beautiful as always. Kodai centre had changed a lot with modernity eroding much of its pristine beauty. So it was a pleasant surprise when we reached Hill Country at Atuvampatty, a good 5 km from Kodai town, to find the multi-cottaged resort spread out on a sprawling estate preserving all the sylvan beauty of Kodai. . The rooms were well appointed and very clean with splendid views. Service was excellent. Staff discreet, friendly, efficient and helpful. Restaurants great and to top it all the Ayurvedic Centre was of very high standards. Hill Country made complete holiday sense – be it trekking, wellness therapies, sight-seeing or just lounging around, HC facilitated everything in a manner truly befitting a world-class holiday resort. My ratings for this hotel: 5 Stars for every category: Value, Room, Location, Cleanliness, Check-in, Services, Internet Reception.

29 Jan 2009,  Srishta (Chennai): Spacious cottages, great landscaping, excellent services for guests, lawn areas, swings and the beautiful weather to add to all of this. Food that tastes just like home food. What more could we ask for but to sit back and enjoy!! It infact forced us for a 2nd holiday with friends too along with family.  It was one of the more memorable holiday that we had.

20 Jan 2009, bbejoyb (Bangalore):  I have been to Kodai 4 times (so far!) and have stayed at Hill Country twice. Loved the facilities at this resort, they perfectly complemented the serene beauty of the place. The staff were courteous and prompt and showed great enthusiasm in organizing trekking trips, a game of cricket and a an evening by the fire place. It was an ideal getaway for our group from the daily grind of city life. The fact that we were well looked after just made the whole trip that much more memorable.

8 December 2009, vikramjit, chandigarh: Very good place to be away from rest of the world, heavenly place on beach, I stayed at light house beach, wonderful place…”

29 December 2009, Nikhil, Pune : “This is a good experience to Kerela. CCK rooms are really good, clean, neat & tidy.  Best Experience:  Swimming and the spa area are nice.”

26th December 2009, Lynne, London:  “Kovalam is a major sea-side resort. It is busy with tourists from all over the world. There are many hotels and shops. It appears to have grown up randomly over the years and not all hotels have road access. The beach is very popular with tourists sunning themselves and surfing but in parts, the sand is black like the Canary Islands.

“Lots of shopping available in Kovalam! There are many gift shops and lots of fabric shops where items of clothing can be made to order very quickly and at very reasonable cost. There are many interesting things to see in and around Kovalam. Lighthouse Beach has a busy prom and many tourists, Indian and foreign, wander up and down in the evenings choosing a restaurant to have a meal. A day trip can be taken on the backwaters. The most southern tip of India can be visited as a day trip – taking in the old palace along the route.

“Every December lots of Europeans descend on Kovalam to join Yoga Groups. They can be seen practicing yoga early morning on the beach. Many of the little shops stock yoga mats and yoga bags. Hotel Sea Breeze on Lighthouse Beach has yoga classes running all through the tourist season. They also offer tuition in Kalarippayattu (Kerala Martial Arts). Most of the hotels offer Ayurveda but not always with supervision of a doctor. The beach is suitable for surfing and it is very interesting to watch them skimming the waves.

“The nearest airport for Kovalam is Trivandrum. Also reach by train to Trivandrum station. When taking a train journey, purchase tickets at least a couple of days in advance. From Trivandrum it is a 20 to 30 minute car ride to Kovalam. A rickshaw from Trivandrum to Kovalam should cost no more than Rs.200.”

22nd December 2009, pranita, Bangalore: “Kovalam is a small town situated 12km away from Trivandram. Beach is awesome. There are two main beaches adjacent to each other. There are lots of hotels and home stays, you can select them according to your budget. Beach is safe to play and water is clean. Lighthouse beach is a little crowded but another is beach is calm and lonely. You will get to see lots of foreigners, in fact more than Indians you can see foreigners. The sun set view is awesome. All the restaurants and shops are situated on the beach, so you just need to walk around, evening time when light glows in the shops the beach looks awesome. Staying 2/3 days in kovalam is worth, you can really have peace and good time, far away from the city life and traffic.”

8 Mar 2010, Tinuworld, Mumbai: “Location is perfect. Between Kovalam beach and Samudra beach. The rear exit to the beach from the Club is ideal. Perfect location for a beautiful sunset with your partner. Food was good (pbviously not Bombay types but good) as we were Veg and also Jain. They prepared it as we wanted. Price is reasonable.”

    Sun Village Goa

    03.07.10

    Sun Village Goa

Why Travel to Goa is out of this world

Travel to Goa is very popular and will transport you to the west coast of India with 65 miles of coastline the edges of the Arabian Sea. Divided into two regions, north and south, holidays in Goa is a wonderful relaxing world of fun and sun.

Goa is India’s the smallest state and is in the state known as Konkan in Maharashtra with Karnataka to the north, south and east. Its history goes back to the 3rd century BC, when the region belonged to the kingdom of Kadamba. It was during the 16th century that Goa was under Portuguese influence from which it inherits many influences still extant, since it was not until 1960 that Goa was returned to India.

It was during the sixties that Goa became popular with the culture hippie, because it’s easy pace of life and quiet charm, the country still attracts many backpackers and travelers to the coast each year without worries. Holidays in Goa have also risen in popularity in the package market and many families are tempted by the beautiful beaches and relaxed atmosphere. Many Indians also choose Goa for their annual holiday in this unique and authentic region.

The north is the liveliest of the two areas and has resorts like Calangute and Baga beach to enjoy. Picturesque villages surrounded by palm trees blend seamlessly with modern structures of hotels and guest houses. The sights and smells of colorful bazaars attract tourists hunting for souvenirs for the occasion, and clothes and shoes can be found for less then in the UK.

The miles of sandy beaches offer small secluded coves, ideal for a relaxing day in the sun with water sports for those who feel enough energy to join in. It is noted however that the currents can be very strong in this part of the world and it is always best to check conditions before leaving, no matter how experienced.

South of Goa you’ll find the popular resort of Kerala, at best described as a hidden paradise, beaches lined with palm trees, and a slow flow of rivers that meander lazily through rice fields and a fascinating variety of animal and bird life. Stroll along the sandy soft beaches and watch the breathtaking sunset while enjoying a hot dinner in a romantic beach hut. Kerala is still a virgin, non-commercial and fully at peace with the world.

The highlight of any vacation to Goa has to be the stunning beaches, but there is still much to do if you fancy a bit of exploration. The capital city of Panaji gives a wonderful view on daily life in Goa, with colonial buildings and a fascinating history.

Dr. Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary is nearby and worth only one of many beautiful national parks holiday visit to Goa. Children will enjoy four-wheel jungle safaris and visits to shelters and elephant Wildlife Sanctuary Bondia in northeastern Goa has a delicious deer park, small zoo and botanical gardens, all in a natural jungle environment.

Probably one of Gao’s favorite attractions is a must for all public holidays: Dudhsagar Goa,  the waterfall.  While attracting visitors during throughout the year, it is especially spectacular during the monsoon season when the waters are at their peak and the waterfalls are breathtaking.

For most of us retail shopping is an important part of any holiday and Goa is no exception.  You will find great deals in all the markets, but the most popular has to be the flea market on Anjuna beach, near Calangute, open every Wednesday. Leather goods, wood carvings, jewelry and ethnic clothing are an excellent value in this part of the world.

Goa, India and Portuguese influences can be found everywhere, including the culinary influences you’ll find on menus. Seafood is a specialty in this part of the world, as well as mouth watering curry found in any of the first-class authentic little restaurants along the beach.

Whether you are back packing your way around the world or looking for a luxury holiday break, the all inclusive, resorts of Goa are out of this world. The relaxed lifestyle is infectious and you’ll soon find yourself longing in a hammock on the beach with the sun and lilting Indian music floating through the air for company.

“We have been in this resort many many times and each time we left with wonderful feeling and love for the resort, but this time February 2010, we have enjoyed the most. We found Mr. Vas, Miguel and all other staff extremely helpful , kind ,cooperative and loving. We would certainly come here again and again.”

    REVIEW:

“I stayed at the Royal Goa Beach Club property called ‘Royal Palms’ which is situated in Benaulim, near the famous Colva beach in Goa. I had been there with my spouse and another couple (our friends) who were on their honeymoon after wedding. I booked for the accommodation directly from the hotel website.

The hotel is not far from the nearest railway station of Margoa. We had asked the travel desk at the hotel to send us a cab for pick up and we found the driver at the railway station looking for us with a placard of my name in his hand.

A beautiful, exotic resort located at walking distance from the Colva beach which offers many water sports and activities. The hotel provides for bicycles to ride to the beach. We stayed in a 2 bed room apartment which had a very nice furnished kitchen with all utensils. The hotel had a nice grocery shop where we bought food as we stayed there for a week, although the hotel food rates were not very exorbitant as usual. The hotel also had quite a nice swimming pool and an activity center where every evening they arrange for different programs. One day they got traditional Goan dancers and another they bought the very famous snake catcher ‘Alvares’ who got many varieties of live snakes to demonstrate. We also enjoyed the Ayurvedic massage at the Hotel spa which was quite rejuvenating.

A nice place by the sea to get a taste of Goa.”
